The Lake Carroll Women's Club is a non-profit, philanthropic organization. The members work together to develop intellectual opportunities, social fellowship, community service and charitable endeavors.
Meetings are held at 1:00 pm on the second Thursday of the month from September through June at the Plumtree Lodge.
There is an opportunity for every member to share their talents for the good of the community.
Some of the more prominent Standing Committees of the Women's Club are noted below.
The Program Committee
plans monthly programs that are of interest to the membership. Past programs have included presentations by master gardeners and a local author to name just a few. We have taken field trips to tour a local dairy farm, visited a nearby greenhouse, spent time enjoying an afternoon shopping excursion, and relaxed, and socialized, with a wine tasting event. We have enjoyed informative programs covering topics like fire prevention in our homes and learned of the benefits of reflexology treatments from local beauty salon. Past events have also included a fashion show featuring items from a nearby boutique.
The Ways and Means Committee
plans fundraisers that involve the membership to raise money to support our charitable goals. In the past, the committee has been successful in raising money with events such as a silent auction, a bake sale and a chili cook off.
The Allocations Committee
determines which local charities to fund and the amount of funds that each charity receives. All money raised by the Women's Club is given to the community. The only requirement for charities to be eligible is that they support Carroll County.
If you would like to become a member of the Women's Club, please complete the membership application and return it to the Treasurer, along with your dues, or just stop by to enjoy one of our monthly meetings. If you have any questions please contact one of the Women's Club officers listed. We would love to have you join us to meet and socialize with the ladies of Lake Carroll and to help support our community.
